Silke Leicher and Manuel Schreiner present a rare collection of drawings, sketches and stories created by world-famous musicians. Oasis, Babyshambles, The Killers, and The Libertines are just some of the bands who have contributed works to Bands on the Road; their illustrations representing a special memory or experience, each of which is accompanied by the artist’s notes about the work.

Bands on the Road, by arts teacher Leicher and music journalist Schreiner, offers an interesting insight into the inner workings of the musician’s mind while on the road. Revealing unusual memories of major bands and artists, the reader can also delve deeper into the psychological element of the images.
This collection will no doubt appeal to music lovers as well as graphic designers, artists and comic book fans alike. For those without prior knowledge of popular music, the book provides a brief history of the artists and bands featured including how they achieved success.
