![]() Spike Jonze's adaptation of Maurice Sendak’s classic children’s story 'Where The Wild Things Are’ hits the big screen this month at cinema’s across the country. Five years in the making, with Jonze enlisted as director in 2003, the much-anticipated film adaptation brings to life the story of Max, a disobedient and imaginative young boy who escapes from home to an imaginary island inhabited by monsters. ![]() Featuring a combination of real-life action, animatronics, and CGI-animated creatures, voiced by actors James Gandolfini and Forest Whitaker among others, ‘Where The Wild Things Are’ is a bold and expansive attempt to immortalise Sendak’s beloved tour de force in motion picture format.
